Bluegum Colorbond Shed Complimentary Colours

Bluegum is one of the best Colorbond steel shades to pair with lots of other complementary colours as it's a perfect neutral base. So, as you can imagine, you have plenty of amazing colours to choose for your complementary additions! Here are a few of our customers' favourites.

Basalt®

Deep Ocean

Bluegum is a cool-toned grey, so using a cool-toned blue like Deep Ocean is the perfect way to add a pop of colour to your shed. Using a dark colour against the light grey base creates dramatic lines and features, and the gentle blue shines when the light hits it just right.

Southerly

Southerly is a slightly lighter grey that can be used to make Bluegum appear lighter. This creates a nice monotone palette that fits into the majority of neutral backdrops. Southerly is slightly yellow-toned, so it adds a nice warmth to your shed instead of remaining too cool-toned.

Ironstone

If you want a modern look with a gentle contrast between light and dark, we think Ironstone is a good way to go. This dark grey has a blue undertone which works really well with the cooler Bluegum, so this is a nice touch if you want some colour without the boldness of Deep Ocean.

Dover White

Much like Southery, Dover White is a light cream colour that's much brighter to give you more of a contrast against the Bluegum shed base. Many of our customers really like Dover White as a complementary colour when they want to make a statement.

Gully

Gully is an earthy, deep beige colour that offers a natural touch to the neutral grey base of Bluegum. Many of our customers choose this combination when they want their shed to blend into their chosen backdrop without creating too much of a focal point.

Monument

Monument is the darkest complementary colour for Bluegum, with a similar undertone as Bluegum. It's a deep charcoal colour that's just slightly lighter than black, creating a vibrant contrast without the harshness of pure black.

Basalt

If you want a monotone vibe with darker components than the Bluegum base, Basalt is a perfect option. It's a strong and robust colour that is just a few shades darker than the Bluegum, creating a pleasant contrast without too much hardness.
