Yes, we offer genuine BlueScope Australian steel on all of our products. All key components are made from Australian steel, however there is a small range of feature finishes which are made from overseas materials. If this important to you, mention this to your local Fair Dinkum Builds expert and they can advise according to what you’ve selected.

All buildings sold through Fair Dinkum Builds come complete with certified engineering plans and certificates of compliance. These certificates indicate compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC2019) and the Building Code of Australia (BCA). These documents are the relevant documents required for council approval and final certification.

It’s best practice to keep your building clean and free from any dirt or contaminants. A good wash with a hose from time to time will keep it looking great and free from rust. Component manufacturers may also offer specific information on how to properly care for your building parts to ensure any relevant component warranty conditions are met. Most of our sheds are sold as a complete end-to-end package, from design through to installation. However, we can offer our sheds in kit form if this is preferred. This means that all materials are provided so that you can complete the construction of your building.

We strongly encourage our customers to only use qualified contractors to install our products to ensure the best and safest outcome. However, if you've got the right skills and qualifications to install the products yourself, we can definitely cater for you – our builds are available in kit form as well, which means we'll deliver everything you need to complete your own DIY shed.

Yes! We are a founding member of Shed Safe, the Australian Steel Institute’s (ASI) industry benchmark for steel sheds. With this accreditation, you can be confident that the shed or build you're purchasing meets requirements for engineering, steel products and site specification. 

Of course – we design our sheds and patios to the 2019 National Construction Code of Australia, as well as AS/NZS 4600-2018, AS/NZS 1170.0,.1,2,3,4-2011, AS2870-2011, AS3600-2018 Australian standards.

Our sheds and other builds are made using Stramit® roofing, wall cladding and other roll formed steel products. These are made from steel coil which has been independently tested and found to have a Spread of Flame Index of 0, in accordance with the Australian Standard AS1530.3. 

This means that Stramit® products made from these steel sources and with the tested finishes would be considered non-combustible according to NCC 2019 Volume One Part C1.9(e) and Volume Two Part 3.7.1.1.

It is important to note that Stramit® sheeting is only one component used in construction of these building elements, and other components must also meet the necessary requirements to satisfy the criteria.
